After recieving some advice from a fairly well-known paranormal suspense author on first impressions – specifically first impressions from my Amazon sell page for Echo Falls – I decided that a new cover could very possibly go a long way in helping Echo Falls ‘pop’. We’re not supposed to judge books by their covers, but we often do. While I loved the previous cover, I knew that I could do better.
I’ve been working with my friend and graphic designer Scarlett Rugers who designs fantastic covers, and talked to her about what I wanted. After a little back and forth about ideas, she came up with this:
She’s done a full cover for the print version of the book as well, and I couldn’t be more pleased.
The best thing about working with Scarlett has been her patience. To be honest, I started working with her and didn’t know what I wanted. With her questionnaires and our conversations, she created a cover that not only reflects the story but the themes within the story.
With Echo Falls finally settled with a great cover, I am finally turning my concentration fully over to the next installment: Fading Echoes…

I really like this new cover. Glad to hear you’re working on the sequel, and it’s good you’re keeping Echo in the title. Good luck!

Thanks, Cheryl. This cover expresses a lot more, doesn’t it? To finishing the next books soon!
