Because of the Great Brain Melt of June and my standing rather on the outskirts of the spec fic community (I always was ever the voyeur), I am going to be checking in throughout the day on this post. That means if you have a great post that I haven’t highlighted (even if it’s on a blog I have highlighted), then please feel free to let me know in the comments if there is something I’ve missed. (Because there is always something I’ve missed.)

*I just want to start of saying that I am sad to hear that Amazon bought the Book Depository. That’s business, I suppose. I know the link isn’t to a blog, but in lack of a blog post about my feelings, I wanted to point it out.

*In case you missed it, the draft program for Conflux 7 is now available. Check it out, tell me if you’re going and don’t mind the jealousy in my eyes. Due to circumstances, I won’t be able to make it this year so everyone going must take heaps of pictures and blog all about it.

*And now for something completely different on Alan Baxter’s blog: Nicole Murphy, who recently celebrated the launch of Rogue Gadda, talks about romance.

*Romance Writers of Australia isn’t immune from the touch of spec fic and the members who write about the something other than normal have created a blog I highly enjoy called Dark Side Down Under. Their latest contribution is the first of a supernatural creatures series featuring the harpy.

*Speaking of the Darksiders, be sure to head over to Eleni’s Taverna to check out the video she made featuring all their work.

*Nicola E. Sheridan keeps up with the creature theme with a post about the Persian Simurgh.
